Chris Anglim is a native of Croagh, County Limerick in the south west of Ireland. He began playing Irish music at the age of seven alongside his two sisters and brother. Throughout the years Chris progressed, competing under Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann at county, provincial and national level. At the age of twelve he developed his love for the uilleann pipes and for the bodhran at the age of twenty one. After completing his studies at second level, he continued his passion and love for music through a third level degree. Studying the Bachelor of Arts in Irish Music and Dance in University of Limerick he qualified with a honours bachelors degree. Following this, he began working with the National Dance Company of Ireland’s ‘Rhythm of the Dance’.
Chris began working with Rhythm of the Dance in 2011 as a musician playing uilleann pipes, whistles and bodhran. In 2012 he developed further to the position of musical director. He has toured extensively with Rhythm of the Dance to countries such as Russia, China, United States of America, Canada, Israel, Palestine, Azerbaijan, Romania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Greece, Luxembourg, Belgium, and The United Kingdom. He has performed at The Kremlin Palace and Crocus Hall in Moscow to Audiences of 6000 people. He has also performed alongside Dolly Parton in Dollywood Tennessee and at the New Orleans Casino in Las Vegas. He has also performed for the closing Ceremony of the European Games in Azerbaijan.
